Title: The Door

Description: Whilst traveling in France I was inspired by doors in the medieval castles and wondered how many souls had traveled through them in the last 700 years.

A door is not only an object that opens and closes, it also symbolizes change: mental, physical and spiritual.

When surrounded by these various doors, we have to break on through to the other side.

In life some doors are easier to open than others, but passing through them is sometimes the hardest thing of all. Now and again a friend or colleague is there to help us along our journey.

To quote Jim Morrison, ‘ There are things known and there are things unknown and in between are The Doors.’

This piece is a tribute to all the aviators who fly doctors, nurses, medical and food supplies into the war torn refugee region of Darfur, Sudan.
